The only child and son of James and Lily Potter (née Evans), Harry's birth was overshadowed by a prophecy, naming either himself or Neville Longbottom as the one with the power to vanquish Lord Voldemort, the most powerful and feared Dark wizard in the world. After half of the prophecy was reported to Voldemort, courtesy of Severus Snape, Harry was chosen as the target due to his many similarities with the Dark Lord. In turn, this caused the Potter family to go into hiding. Voldemort made his first attempt to circumvent the prophecy when Harry was a year and three months old. During this attempt, he murdered Harry's parents as they tried to protect him, but this unsuccessful attempt to kill Harry led to Voldemort's first downfall. This downfall marked the end of the First Wizarding War, and to Harry henceforth being known as "The Boy Who Lived", as he was the only known survivor of the Killing Curse due to being magically protected by his mother's loving sacrifice. In accordance with the terms of the prophecy, this attempt on his life also established him, not Neville, as Voldemort's nemesis. *** CHAPTERS 00:00 Intro 00:01:52 Family Lineage 00:02:42 Early Life 00:04:00 Attack at Godric's Hollow 00:05:43 Life at Privet Drive 00:07:32 Discovery of being a wizard 00:09:14 Hogwarts years 00:27:42 Second year 00:52:17 Third year 01:04:03 Fourth year 01:16:35 Fifth year 01:28:22 Sixth year 01:42:33 Horcrux hunt 02:03:01 After Hogwarts 02:03:26 Career as an Auror 02:03:56 Rising Tensions 02:05:47 Head of Dept of Magical Law Enforcement *** FOLLOW ME WEBSITE: https://amagipublishing.com/ MERCH: https://crowdmade.com/collections/theamagi INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/ethanschulteis/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/the_amagi VLOG CHANNEL: @AmagiPublishing SECOND CHANNEL: @EthanSchulteis *** HARRY POTTER WIKI WEBSITE: https://harrypotter.fandom.com/ ARTICLE: https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Harry_Potter FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/HarryPotterWikia TWITTER: https://twitter.com/HarryWiki *** CREDITS PRODUCER: @AmagiPublishing NARRATOR: @Keegan Hughes EDITOR: @Imubi5 WRITER: @Harry Potter Wiki MUSIC: @epidemicsound *** This video uses material from the "Harry Potter” article on the Harry Potter Wiki at Fandom, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License.
